The new improved H Grade is intended to be used for the vast majority of composite applications where both hand laminating and closed molding processes such as infusion are employed.

With the new H Grade, major improvements in all significant performance areas have been achieved. Strength properties have been increased by an average of 10% whereas the shear properties (normally the most important property for a sandwich core material) have seen even higher gains. Shear strength has been increased by up to 20% and elongation to break has risen by up to 50%. The ductility of Divinycell H has also been markedly improved making it ideal for applications subject to fatigue, slamming or impact loads. Where a more brittle core material might well shatter or delaminate as a result of an impact, the ductile performance of the upgraded H grade allows it to absorb energy when deflected without structural failure.

Both the thermal and dimensional stability of Divinycell H have also been improved significantly. Divinycell H can now be processed at up to 194°F (90°C) with minimal dimensional changes.

The chemical properties have also been upgraded with particular reference to improving resistance to attack from styrene and other solvents. Yet another major improvement is a 50% reduction in the core’s cell size in order to reduce resin usage and thereby save weight.

Divinycell H is still available in the widest range of densities of any structural core material - 3, 3.8, 5, 6.3, 8.1, 10, 12.5 and 15.6 lb/cub. ft. (45, 60, 80, 100, 130, 160, 200 and 250 kg/cub. m.).

Standard & Special Finishing
Divinycell H sandwich core can be supplied with a wide range of finishes to facilitate installation, enhance component quality and to meet specific process requirements. These include grid-scored, double cut and 'infusion' grooved/perforated forms.

Ready-Made Kits
For those involved in series production, Divinycell H can be supplied in ready-made construction kits where each piece is pre-cut, shaped as necessary and numbered to fit exactly into its designated place in the mold. This substantially reduces build times, saves labor costs, improves quality and cuts waste.
