DIAB is extending the range of pure syntactic foam with a new low density grade. The new LD grade is suitable for water depths from 1,000-10,000 MSW and will compete with the lowest available density in the market (LD1000 @ 390 kg/cub.m.).

Other features of the LD grade are very low water absorption, tight density tolerance and a high safety factor.

As with all BMTI syntactic foams, the standard blocks have a large unit volume, which saves cost during assembly. The LD grade can be easily cut, bonded and machined for a smooth surface finish.

Recently, LD1000 was qualified into a military submarine program, which shows the quality and confidence in the product.
