Our philosophy with Matrix is to provide core materials that have excellent strength to weight performance with mechanical properties relevant to our customers’ needs and challenges – in other words focused performance. Our new addition Matrix 11-9 does just that.

With its nominal mechanical properties of 1.1 MPa for compression and 0.9 MPa for shear, Matrix 11-9 fills a void in the core materials market. Previously no core material has been commercially available with the mechanical properties offered by 11-9 at such a low density. The characteristics of Matrix 11-9 will be invaluable to a wide range of industries and will enable designers to move from a heavier core and select a more precise alternative in terms of mechanical properties thereby saving both weight and cost. As is the case with all our core material Matrix 11-9 is a distillation of our unrivalled experience in core materials manufacture and will increase the competitiveness of our customers.

The weight reduction offered by Matrix 11-9 coupled with its recyclability also makes it a good choice from an environmental standpoint.
