Core materials for sailing boats
Sailing boats, made for racing or pleasure, benefit from the light weight and formability of foam core materials.
Hulls, decks, bulkheads and floors, as well as rudders, keels, daggerboards and winch bases, can be made lighter, stronger and stiffer with our solutions.
Our core materials include many benefits, such as good fatigue life, low resin uptake and prepreg compatibility. They allow for good impact resistance and damage tolerance and high repairability, and the closed cells significantly reduce water uptake. The products from Diab are easily formable and have great machinability, which, in combination with a wide range of finishes, offer design freedom and beautiful surface finishing.
In addition, our kitting options make manufacturing easier and more accurate. The result is a durable boat with long service life and good resale value. At the end of life, the GL-, DNV- and LR-certified materials can be recycled.
